30 But everyone shall die for his own iniquity, every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.

- Jeremiah 31:29 The wicked used this proverb, when they did murmur against God’s judgments pronounced by the Prophets, saying, That their fathers had committed the fault and that the children were punished, Ezek. 18:3.
- Jeremiah 31:31 Though the covenant of redemption made to the fathers, and this which was given after, seem divers, yet they are all one, and grounded on Jesus Christ, save that this is called new, because of the manifestation of Christ, and the abundant graces of the holy Ghost given to his Church under the Gospel.
